The Original Since 1953.
The Kork-Ease story begins over a half century ago in Brooklyn, New York, where the original cork wedge sandal was born. The soft, rich leathers and lightweight cork heel were the perfect choice for women seeking chic, comfortable style. As time went on, the natural simplicity and organic design of our sandals was right in step with the free-flowing, earthy fashion of the late sixties. In the 1970s, Kork-Ease took center stage during the height of the disco era – with the iconic platform wedge that would become symbolic of the era.Today, Kork-Ease is forever immortalized in fashion history, with our original wedge as one of only 25 shoes on display in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute's Landmark Shoe Collection.
Always Classic
Today, Kork-Ease is forever immortalized in fashion history, with our original wedge as one of only 25 shoes on display in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute's Landmark Shoe Collection. Our new Spring 2012 collection celebrates the core spirit of our original designs, infused with fresh, new elements – from suede and leather wrapped wedges to bold studding – reflecting the perfect fusion of retro and modern.
Better with Time
While the Kork-Ease heritage grows richer through the years, the same can be said for our leathers. Many of the styles in the Kork-Ease collection are designed in rich Vachetta leather, a naturally tanned leather from Tuscany that is left untreated to develop a deep, lustrous patina over time.
